Tee Birds "Original Art to Wear"

Is the sole distributor of our line of exotic bird
shirts. Our current 5 designs were created by
Kingston, NY artist, Brian Merecka. Brian begins
by doing extensive research on each bird, it's habits, coloring and natural habitat.
He then creates these beautiful works
of art taking care to reproduce even the finest detail.


The original artwork is then sent to a professional
color separator where it is separated into the four
basic printing colors (cyan, magenta, yellow and black)
and printed in microscopic dots onto film positives.
We use only the most professional color separators
who are the best in the world and are the experts in this process (known as 4 color process).


After we (at Mink Ink! Graphics) receive the separations, each one is carefully reproduced onto
a monofilament polyester "screen"(one for each
of the four process colors). Polyester has replaced
silk over the years because it is tougher and more
resilient than silk and can reproduce much finer detail.
The ink is then added and with the aid of a jeweler's
loupe the screens are lined up one to the other taking
care that each dot is in exactly (within 1/1000
of an inch) the right position.


Each color is then squeegeed onto the
shirt fabric. We go to great lengths to reproduce the
original artwork as closely as possible.
